{"id":465,"date":"2011-09-09T13:18:33","date_gmt":"2011-09-09T13:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dcf.twoguyswebserv.wpengine.com\/?p=465"},"modified":"2011-09-09T13:19:39","modified_gmt":"2011-09-09T13:19:39","slug":"check-out-the-walworth-county-cloggers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dariencornfest.us\/?p=465","title":{"rendered":"Check out the Walworth County Cloggers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Walworth County Cloggers will be performing on Saturady at 4:00 PM<\/p>\n<p>What is Clogging?<\/p>\n<p>Clogging is a PERCUSSIVE DANCE FORM &#8212; so yes, it is similar to tap, irish and canadian step dance.\u00a0 But clogging is more than that.\u00a0 Clogging is very much a part of our American heritage.\u00a0It began in the Appalachian Mountain region and was brought to America by Irish, Scottish, English and Dutch Germans who settled there in the mid 1700s.\u00a0 The settlers shared dances from their home countries and new &#8216;combined&#8217; forms of dance began to evolve.\u00a0Our Native Americans, African Americans and even gypsies added to the evolution of this unique dance.\u00a0 And the evolution continued.\u00a0 Canadian step dance, tap and jazz dance have influenced how clogging changed over time.\u00a0 And we still see this evolution &#8212; with influences from street dance, hip-hop and more making thier way into the clogging routines of today.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s going to be a fun event to attend.\u00a0 Please join us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Walworth County Cloggers will be performing on Saturady at 4:00 PM What is Clogging?
