We made it through another year.

September 21, 2012 By wpengine

The tents are put away.  The bands have packed up and gone on to their next gig.  All the corn has been eaten. The grounds have cleaned up.  The carnival has moved on to another town.  The vendors have loaded up their wares.

Thanks to all for making this one of the best CornFest seasons ever.

We came…..  We saw……  We ate…..

We’re done……..

I’m toast……..

Thanks to all the Volunteers

September 21, 2012 By cornmaster

Cornfest would not be what it is without the hard work of its volunteers.  They’re the first to come and the last to leave [as Jackson Browne sang about] working long hours with no pay [except maybe and ear of corn and a walking taco].  So let us all give a giant THANK YOU to all those who helped make the 2012 CornFest a terrific time.

52 and still poppin’ Baby!

Tri-County Pullers bring the Thunder to Cornfest

The Tri-County Pullers were at CornFest again this year and the action was loud and exciting [Like you expected anything less?].  It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the teams and pullers brought down the house!  Great competition ruled the day and the roar of the pullers and the crowd could be heard through-out the Cornfest grounds.  Be sure to add the pullers onto your schedule at next year’s festivities.  You will not be disappointed.

The Fabulous Cookie Decorating Contest

September 21, 2012 By wpengine

Always a hit on Sundays at CornFest is the Cookie Decorating Contest.  Kids [of all ages] put on their creative chef-hats and deliver colorful corn cookies. And they looked great.  How great?  We almost had to call in extra security so those lacking “will-power” didn’t eat the contestants cookies.  Now that’s one good cookie!

Here are three of our “Cookie Champions”.

Big smiles all around.  Oh, and the cookies not only looked good, they tasted fabulous!

And here are some shots of the “Field of Cookies”.  Remember, if you decorate them , they will come.

Feel the Power of the Outhouse Races

September 20, 2012 By wpengine

There’s nuttin’ better than a race.  And there is certainly nothing better than an Outhouse race!  This was Cornfest’s first Annual Outhouse Race and be assured, it won’t be the last.  The excitement from the pits!  The roar of the crowd!  The smell of the cars.  OK, maybe not that last one.  But a great time was had by all.

Congrats to DP Electronic Recycling for the victory!
